The Mazzit stakeholders Group brings together a number of entities interested in the production of the mazzit. The group was set up with a view to submitting an application for the black pudding to be recognised by the European Union as a product of a typical geographical indication.

The objectives of this group are as follows:

• to promote the use of mazzit
• working to make the pudding in accordance with the traditional recipe and protected as such
• working towards obtaining European Union recognition for this traditional product under the framework of products with a protected geographical indication (PGI)
